Own the beer your drink!

Blowfly Beer is an Australian beer company that has a very unique proposition. If you buy their beer, you earn the right to a share of the company!

It's a very interesting concept, and it appears to be working - the company is anticipating revenues of up to $1 million the first year in operation, without spending a dime on advertising, and with a staff of four people!

Now that's a remarkable company if I've ever seen one. Absolutely brilliant.

ChangeThis....turning publishing on its head

The folks over at ChangeThis are doing some pretty cool stuff. They've recruited the likes of Tom Peters, Seth Godin, Guy Kawasaki, and former Vice President Al Gore to write "manifestos" and give them away online.

The content is fantastic, the ideas are fresh and thought-provoking. I'm looking forward to seeing where they take this.

A Cafe for Cats...pet ridiculousness continues

Fast Company reports that the folks at Meow Mix are throwing their ring into the trend of catering to over-the-top pet lovers.

The test concept will be launched in (surprise) New York, and represents the company's first attempts at getting into the "wet-food" segment of the cat food industry. And what a way to launch.

Meow Mix has a history of taking risks - in the past, they've gone so far as creating television programming for cats. Some people would chalk it up as a ridiculous attempt to make headlines, but the folks at Meow Mix might know their consumers better than most - I personally know of a small handful of people who'd take their kittens to a place like this.

Does this represent an industry-changing innovation? Doubtful. But it's certainly clever.
