Receive a message from the pope....on your cell phone?

Apparently so.

You can now receive a special "thought of the day" from the head of the Catholic church. Perhaps this is an attempt to rekindle the passion of disaffected Catholics. Whatever the thinking, it does speak to the fact that no institution, no matter how old or sacred, can avoid thinking about ways to reach their consumers/followers in the future.
